All of Victoria is so excited for the reconstruction of a beloved community treasure, the Riverside Duck Pond in Riverside Park. On Saturday, February 17 the City of Victoria will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10AM, afterwhich we'll host a fun kids' fishing camp, for free! Volunteers will be on site to assist, with along bait and tackle provided by the Victoria Parks and Recreation. Don't have a fishing pole? No problem! The City of Victoria has 15 poles for those 5 and under and 15 poles for older children and young teens, free to use!
Due to limits on available space to allow for safe fishing distance, as well as available volunteers, the camp will be limited to 50 participating children (those 18 and younger). Adults are welcome, but must have a valid Texas Fishing License. Children fishing with a parent or legal guardian do not require a license.
Be sure to stick around and enjoy free hot dogs, courtesy of Victoria Parks and Recreation and free drinks from Explore Victoria, Texas. We hope you and your family can join us for a wonderful family event in Riverside Park!
