Step back in time this October 18-19 in Riverside Park for a fascinating reenactment of life in Guadalupe Victoria in 1824! Period-accurate historical reenactors from all over the state of Texas will be coming to Victoria to present this very special free event.
Reenactors will be set up at multiple stations, showcasing some aspect of frontier life and the role their character would have played in that. There will even be black powder musket demonstrations as well as a regimental band performance!
Friday, October 18 from 9:30AM-2PM will be reserved for school tours; after that the public is invited to attend. There will also be a candlelight tour that evening from 7PM-9PM! If you are a school group interested in setting up a field trip for this event, please contact Claudia Moseley at the Museum of the Coastal Bend at claudia.moseley@victoriacollege.edu!
On Saturday, October 19 the public is invited to attend all day; 10AM-6PM. We'll begin the day with flag raising ceremony at 10AM, followed by a day filled with interesting demonstrations.
Come on out to Riverside Park and enjoy a rare look back into what our community's founders experienced with life on the Texas frontier!
