Just 30 minutes down the road, Goliad is home to the restored Presidio La Bahia, which relocated there in 1749 from a site near Victoria. It is considered one of the world's finest examples of a Spanish frontier fort. Significant Spanish Colonial and Texas Revolution events played out at this fort, including the Goliad Massacre. The fort and museum exhibits are open daily. Admission charge.
